The first-ever musical instrument demonstration event organized by PLEAS in Minnesota was successfully held on July 13 ,3025 at the Ridgedale Library in Minnetonka. More than 50 people from the Twin cities metro joined this exciting event!
The first segment was introduction to PLEAS, a nonprofit organization founded in Minnesota in January 2025. Its mission is to promote arts and sports activities among K–12 students, strengthen parent-child relationships, and build community connections. PLEASE Board Members are composed of middle and high schoolers studying in Twin cities. That day, all the PLEAS members and their family members wore coordinated bright blue team uniforms, along with a custom logo banner.
The second segment featured four PLEAS Board Members and five specially invited guests with exceptional musical talent, each introducing their instrument.
The final segment was an audience engagement prize-winning instrument guessing game. The host invited children to form teams and face away from the musicians. A random draw determined which musician would perform, and the children had to guess the instrument by sound alone. Although the game was a bit challenging for elementary schoolers—especially when it came to identifying traditional Chinese instruments—after repeated listening and trying, the children gained a fresh understanding of each instrument and left with joyful hearts, prizes and full hands!
This musical instrument demonstration event received unanimous praise from parents and their children. They expressed hope for more such musical appreciation events and hands-on learning opportunities in the future!
