On April 26th, a K-Pop dance workshop, hosted by PLEAS in West Metro Chinese Church in Plymouth MN, brought together more than 25 participants for a day filled with music, movement, and fun. Dancers ranged in age from three-year-old children to parents and other adults, creating a unique opportunity for people of different generations to learn and dance together.
The workshop was led by dance teacher, Ms. Jingwen Sun and Vera Che, a 5th grader in Scenic heights Elementary. Participants learned choreography to “Golden,” the Oscar-winning hit song that has become popular around the world. The song’s uplifting message and energetic rhythm inspired everyone to give their best effort while enjoying the experience.
Throughout the workshop, the room was filled with smiles, laughter, and excitement. Children eagerly practiced new dance moves, while parents joined in and shared the joy of learning alongside their kids. The event showed that dance can bring people together regardless of age or experience.
For many young dancers, the workshop was a chance to experience the creativity, teamwork, and energy that make K-Pop so appealing. In addition to learning choreography, participants built confidence, improved coordination, and made new friends.
The workshop was a memorable celebration of music and dance, leaving everyone with a greater appreciation for K-Pop and many happy memories to take home. Participants couldn’t wait for another chance to learn K-POP!
